Error 1628:Failed to complete installation. Age of Empires 3

Hi to all

I have recently installed wine...and im trying to run age of empires 3 on it...but im unable to since im getting an error 1628: Failed to complete installation after clicking the setup.exe....i was previously running wine 1.4 but last night i updated it to 1.5...still the problem persists...

Im on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Please help...can get over it...

1.5.x is still old and no longer supported. The current stable release is 1.6, development is 1.7.5; upgrade to one of those, preferably the latter.

Correction...im sorry i updated from 1.4 to 1.6...
now what should i do??

I have tried to get AoE3 working in wine before and this was one of the errors I encountered. Read my last post in http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f ... 29&p=85356.

Oh i see...well i tried what u said...copying the installed directory and pasting it...apparently i did that with need for speed mostwanted and it has worked flawlessly... now im gonna try it with aoe3 aswell...Thanks alot

@i will now break it...i tried copying the installed directory but then when i double click the icon to start the game...a window pops up and asks for the cd - key..after putting it i get this message... "Error loading the PID generator Dll. The Dll could not be found! please make sure the file is available int he installation directory and try again.

I manually downloaded the dll then pasted it in the wine system32 folder and then tried again but it didnt work... like u said u just pasted and it worked for u...did u get any error like this??

Please help cant get over this shitty installation..
