Microphone in Steam

Hello all,
I've worked with computers for quite some time but am very new to Linux so I could use your help.
I have Steam running on Linux and am using Wine to play CS:GO. Most things work just fine, but I cannot get CS:GO (or Steam) to recognize any audio devices for voice.
I'll give you some brief information on my system, but please let me know of any additional details/commands that could help you guys out. Currently using ALSA.

Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon
Xonar SoundCard
Intel i3 processor
ASUS P8Z77-V LE Mobo

Wine version? If it's not the latest development release, upgrade.

Is this a USB mic? Wine is known to have problems with them.
