Lotro

Post by Lotrojünger »

Hello,
I changed from crossweaver to wine and wanted to play lotro, where I came across some problems.
I play Lotro on a 64 bit Ubuntu platform
1. I can't find the folder, where lotro saves the user-data.
2. I experience program crashes after aprox. 4-5 hours (nearly every time) and I don't have a clue, what could be the reason.
3. Is there anybody, who knows a cheap(er) possibility to get the crossweaver program instead of paying 30-40 Euro/Dollar - I mean I would like to pay (but not 30-40 Euro - which I would pay for WIndows 7 these days).

Sincerely,

Lotrojünger

1. Where does it save it on Windows? It should be the same place in Wine.
2. There is no way to tell from the information you have given.
3. Never heard of "crossweaver." I have heard of Crossover, from Codeweavers. They are the main support for the Wine project. No one here is going to help you rip them off.

I don't want to rip them off - you can get the mac-Version for about 15 Euro - which is a price I would pay:

I don't understand, why it is nearly the double for linux.
----
1. It usually saves in a user-folder in Windows. But there
There is no (win)-Profile in wine-"C:" - it just refers on my linux user-folder

The bundle you linked to claims to be a special sale with some of the proceeds going to charity. Ask Codeweavers whether it's legit.

So check in your home folder for a directory created by LotRO.
