Games going slow after loading

Post by meteors2313 »

I've tried two games on Ubuntu 13.04, NFS Carbon and World in Conflict. Both of these games run perfect on Windows 7. I having Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 @2.66 Ghz with no intel chipset G33/G31 graphics. Whenever I try any of these games the intro video loads perfect but the subsequent stuffs loads very awfully slow. This is the output on running the World in Conflict game from terminal.

hi ahso, I tried to install the chipset g33/g31 driver from https://01.org/linuxgraphics/ but on after installing the .deb file provided on running the software it tried to download and install another .deb file named i915-3.9-3.8-dkms_0.02_all.deb but it didn't got successfully installed with the following errors:
(Reading database ... 214828 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking i915-3.9-3.8-dkms (from .../i915-3.9-3.8-dkms_0.02_all.deb) ...
Checking Kernel Version: Want 3.8.x+; Have 3.9.2
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/i915-3.9-3.8-dkms_0.02_all.deb (--install):
subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/i915-3.9-3.8-dkms_0.02_all.deb

Please suggest any other source for installing intel graphic drivers for g33/g31 chipset for linux if you know.
I don't think I do require a graphic card cause the game runs flawlessly in windows.

What it does in Windows is irrelevant. The hardware may be the same, but the graphics drivers aren't. Intel's Linux drivers are notoriously bad.
