I tried to run TFM Music Maker (which is said to be Wine compatible) with Wine 1.4.1 under Debian-LXDE (Wheezy)
The problem is that the sound output is crappy, I hear just some noise
In other programs I have tried with Wine sounds seem to work fine.
Switching pulseaudio on/off does not make a difference
If you have any suggestions, I am glad to hear

Try upgrading Wine to 1.6 or later.

Re: TFM Music Maker - sound is broken
Thanks.
Debian's basic repositorys seem to have just Wine 1.4.
I can only find these 1.5 deb packages:
http://dev.carbon-project.org/debian/wine-unstable/
Is the only way to get 1.6 for Debian to compile it from sources?

AFAICT, probably. You might want to ask on the Debian forum if anyone knows of a place to get newer Wine binaries.habitant de sous-sol wrote: Is the only way to get 1.6 for Debian to compile it from sources?
