I have black sky in War thunder. I have wine 1.6, free radeon driver 7.1.0, 9.1.4 mesa and libdrm 2.4.46 installed. My videocard is Radeon HD4850. Installing proprietary driver isn't very acceptably for me due it requires old X server. How to fix this?

Black sky in War Thunder
Re: Black sky in War Thunder
Hi
I have same problem my wine version is 1.7.1 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS my video driver is nvidia-319 (recommended) run with Geforce 9800 GT 512 MB
I have tested all graphic settings from very low to ultra high with AA on or not with all effects on or not.
Some maps with perfect weather looks as brilliant as on my Windows Vista desktop.
Problem occurs when weather is cloudy. In that case every part of screen beside terrain is black. Objects (planes, explosions, smoke, parts of planes, bullets) are visible on that 'clouds' sometimes I can see sun shinning throw this.
I run EveOnline client on this very same wine settings - every thing looks perfectly normal in Eve.

Re: Black sky in War Thunder
War thunder looks ok with my GTX 770 but I can only use lowest settings.
Also I suspect it to install openal which results in a sound lag in other wine games.
There's a newer ATI driver i think of yesterday?

Re: Black sky in War Thunder
I found solution.
If you updated your system lately from older Ubuntu with alder version wine like me, you probably had installed d3dx9 and it seems cause problems with wine1.7.1 and War Thunder.
After I have installed new wineprefix with winetricks I added: corefonts vcrun6 d3dx10 and now everything looks wonderfully. No more black sky.
