I installed wine on openSUSE through the package manager.
I want to use it to run an old mame version.
I have been using this mame version for years on different windows versions, it does not need installing.
I copied the folder containing mame32.exe and the roms and some more stuff, from windows to wine C:\ drive.
When I start mame it works, but it cant read any of the roms.
The roms are zipfiles, which are not a problem on windows.
They are a problem on Linux though, mame shows all roms as not working.
On a sidenote, openSUSE does not have problems with the zip files, the problem is wine related.
I am totally lost though on how to solve this.
OpenSUSE 12.3 using wine to run an old mame version
Re: OpenSUSE 12.3 using wine to run an old mame version
Wine version? If it's not the latest development release, upgrade. If it doesn't work in the latest development release, post terminal output. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log
