Lots of pain in Metro 2033

Post by ZombieRedShirt »

Hello. I'm having serious performance problems with Metro 2033. The game lags a hell of a lot whenever I move the mouse in any way. To clarify, say I move around using the mouse in order to look at something, the game will take about half a second to move my point of view, and then behave, until the next time I move the mouse. I suppose it might be some kind of xinput problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

This problem seems to persist no matter which version of wine I use. I've tried compiling my own version of wine, and am currently on wine-1.6rc4. I've also used the official winehq repo for ubuntu.

I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 x64. I have an AMD 955 quad core cpu, 12 gigs of ram, and an NVIDIA 660gt.

Makes me wait for the Linux version, that they are currently working on. Hopefully it doesn't take long.

They released the Mac version yesterday, hence Last Light should be out very soon. (they said before the end of the year)

If it's a sequel, never mind. Metro 2033 is fun to play? It's comparable to what?
