Windows 95 Game on Mac

Trying to play an old windows game on my mac- is this not the right program to use? Installed wine, opened up the games .exe and got a message telling me it must be run on Windows 95.

Did you try going in winecfg and changing the Windows version to Win95? works sometimes but not always.

That seems like it'll work but then I get a error saying: General error occurred whilst copying game files- check target location and try again. Any ideas?

Hey there,

what is the installation path you've installed the game? Make sure drive_c and program files stands in front (c:/program files/[name of the game's folder]...
Otherwise you might want to delete .wine folder and let it set up again (but only favour this method, if you haven't installed already a lot of programs)
1) open a Terminal and type: open ~/.wine
2) delete the .wine folder
3) let wine set up a new .wine folder with type in Terminal for example: winecfg
4) run the installer with the wine command again
