Sorry about that I don't get the paste bin thingy as I can't embed it's JS code on here since html is off
Google pastebin.com for more information on pastebin. Ubuntu has one of their own.

Can you try installing the program thusly:
Remove the existing Wine files directory. It is located at $HOME/.wine if LiveZilla is the only program you have installed with Wine.
Install mono using WineTricks. http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks is where information on using this is located
Install LiveZilla
Run LiveZilla and capture a log file and post it to a pastebin.com like site.

Thank you.
How to install mono is it through the git lib it's more than 80MB if that's it :D
I'm downloading both versions (2.6.7 and 2.10.2 from Mono Project).

Yes, that is the file you need for installing Mono. Use the winetricks
product (http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks) to get further information
on what it is and how to properly utilize it.

Any release with an even-numbered minor version (2.6, 2.8, 2.10...) is
stable. Mono 2.6 is only significant because it is the last line of
releases to support .NET 1.1.

I was referring to your log file snippet. .NET functionality must
exist before installing any program requiring it. The log gives the
appearance that this was not what you did when you installed
LiveZilla.
As to the Veranda font issue did you run
sh winetricks corefonts
??

I have the following files in my .wine/windows/fonts directory:

Verdana.TTF
Verdanab.TTF
Verdanai.TTF
Verdanaz.TTF

These might be installed if you use the winetricks allfonts option.

Did you follow the instructions I provided earlier?

That is what Verdana.TTF is. Something is not proper with your Wine
installation. Maybe someone else can step in and provide advice because
that is all I know to advise folks to do.

Hang on, I think what you need is a debugged recipe,
you're not getting very far with the debugging suggestions
we're throwing you. Let's see... downloading livezilla now...

cd $HOME
rm -rf ~/.wine
sh winetricks corefonts dotnet20
wget http://www.livezilla.net/downloads/pubf ... 2_Full.exe
wine LiveZilla_3.3.2.2_Full.exe
cd ~/".wine/drive_c/Program Files/LiveZilla"
wine LiveZilla

That gets the error
Your system misses the font Microsoft Sans Serif
Copying micross.ttf from a Windows system into ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts gets past that.

The next problem is
Your system misses the font Tahoma

Doing
winetricks tahoma gdiplus
gets past that. (Don't know why gdiplus was needed, that's interesting.)

The next problem is your error,
Your system misses the font 'Verdana Regular'

Which is funny, because Verdana Regular is already in windows/Fonts,
and WINEDEBUG=+font shows
trace:font:AddFontToList Loading font file "/home/dank/.wine/dosdevices/c:/windows/Fonts/Verdana.TTF" index 0
trace:font:get_familyname Got localised name L"Verdana"
trace:font:AddFontToList fsCsb = 2000019f 00000000/00000287 00000000 00000000 00000000
trace:font:AddFontToList Added font L"Verdana" L"Regular"

My 2 Cents

Post by SpawnHappyJake »

I tried a few searches:
I looked up Livezilla at alternativeto.net:
http://alternativeto.net/software/livezilla/
Nothing too exciting there.

Then I tried the following 3 searches in Google (without the quotes):
"free alternative to Livezilla"
"open source alternative to Livezilla"
"Livezilla on Linux"

Lots of stuff came up, so maybe at least one will do the trick.
I'm hopeful this one will do it:
http://www.livezilla.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2314
It gives winetricks to install, and a certain linear order of how to get Livezilla going in WINE.

Over here, anthonyeu is saying that you can do the server side of Livezilla on any server running php - including a Linux server:http://www.livezilla.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=656

Have you considered switching to Crafty Syntax? It's open source, so you should be able to get it running on Linux or Mac. That seems to be your best alternative based on what other forums are saying.
Help Center Live might also be promising - it's open source as well.
ZopIM? Comm100? WebIM? Just going off of http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=949573 for those last few. Then there's OpenwebIM and http://mibrew.org

Cagaud (at here:http://www.livezilla.net/forum/viewtopi ... 5&start=20) says you should "adjust the Client Pll Frequency (value 15 is a good one) and the Visitor Pll Frequency (ideal value is 60 seconds) because otherwise the defaults values will create freq. disconnections"
Read what Cagaud has to say on page 2 as well. This is in context of getting Livezilla working in WINE.

This has a possibility of helping: http://www.moreofit.com/similar-to/www. ... ftysyntax/

What About...

Post by SpawnHappyJake »

Livezilla Client runs on Linux using Wine

Postby batrams » Fri Mar 05, 2010 8:06 pm
We still don't have 100% functionality, but the client is indeed usable under Linux with Wine. Please find details here:
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19329

You have to do it this way:

1.) wine version at least 1.1.39
2.) install via winetricks: gdiplus ie6 dotnet20 mdac25 mdac28
3.) now install livezilla
4.) NOW install winetricks corefonts

if you install corefonts earlier it will complain about missing fonts.

I've also recognized that installing:
wininet urlmon
makes livezilla more stable.

Main remaining problem is missing menus in chat dialog (Smileys, Bold, ...).

Ok. Now we know that you can't have an alternative.

The above quote seems promising. Don't forget to do the wininet urlmon at the end and to do it in the order he gives. Maybe you should nuke your WINE and start over and do it in his order. He says, "if you install corefonts earlier it will complain about missing fonts." He also said that he got Livezilla to work in WINE.

There's also what Cagaud said, "adjust the Client Pll Frequency (value 15 is a good one) and the Visitor Pll Frequency (ideal value is 60 seconds) because otherwise the defaults values will create freq. disconnections."

Hope the problem gets solved soon, and the solution filed in the AppDB!

Cheers,
Jake

Nuke it.

Post by SpawnHappyJake »

Sorry, my satellite Internet is down due to weather, and am barely able to get through with the data plan on my iPhone.
You need to nuke your wine. This means you need to delete the hidden ".wine" folder in your user folder. Save anything out of there that you want to keep, like game saves. Deleting this folder gets rid of all the programs you have installed in WINE, all your WINE registry keys, and any files you had in there.
After deleting the dot wine folder, just to make sure you really got it nuked, I would uninstall and reinstall WINE.
After nuking WINE, do steps 1-4 and then the other two steps.
I hope to write more after I've slept and have a full keyboard and acceptable Internet connection.
Cheers,
Jake

Internet is back and so are the details

Post by SpawnHappyJake »

So if you are in Linux, your dot wine folder is at "/home/[user name]/.wine" .
If you are in Mac, your dot wine folder is at "/Users/[user name]/.wine" .
Open your file browser, whether it be Nautilus or Finder or whatever.
Navigate to your user folder. If in Nautilus, do a Ctrl + h to make hidden files and folders shown. If in Finder in Mac OS X, then you got to go into terminal and enter this:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
and then this:
killall Finder
Make sure you've backed up what needs to be backed up.
Then you can see the dot wine folder and delete it.
Then it might be a good idea to uninstall and reinstall WINE, because I don't know if the fonts and winetricks are stored elsewhere. According to Batrams, you have to install them in a certain order.

Yeah, if we ever figure out a working recipe, we'll try to post it here.
(But cc yourself on http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27294
too, in case that gets fixed by someone who doesn't know about
this post.)
