It is, and this particular bug is already fixed: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15551

Hey everybody, it's been 3 months since the last time I posted. Now I'm using 2008 with 1.1.6 and it's perfect for me, the only important thing is the TTF text issue, but I'm getting used to the old fonts instead.

Not so many crashes as before ? Last time I tested it was with 1.1.4 and it was crashing often....

well, to be honest the licensing is not working because every two hours or so a message pops up saying that the licence is not valid and you have to restart, but it saves the work every time. When the help or "whats new" dialogs appear it crashes but I disabled both via registry. Layers dialog, the dashboard, properties dialog, everything fine.

why don't you add a test data and the other info for example how to disable the crash via registrya and the help?
thanks :wink:

Well, so nothing new :D They're more or less the crashes that I found, also the licensing problem. Because of those I'll stay with 2005 and use 2008 just to convert newest dwg.

BTW, the only true annoying problem now is the TTF stuff.

Ciao

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.1\ACAD-6001:409\FixedProfile\Application Window]

"Position"="178 61 1483 874"

"Show"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.1\ACAD-6001:409\Profiles\<<Unnamed Profile>>\Drawing Window]
"MoreHideWarningDialogs"=dword:00000200

These are the keys, the firs one is to avoid a small window that sometimes causes autocad to crash, change acording to your resolution
The other simply hides the "what's new" thing.

As you can see I still get errors, i.e when clicking "customize", but it doesn't crash, I just receive an error and I can continue working.

I'm using a build from here

http://mike.kronenberg.org/

I don't know why using this build all is smooth and without crashes (I guess the libraries he includes are the solution). I tried to include some of the libs in my own build but with no success. I don't know how would be on Ubuntu, I'm sorry.

Hello,
I finally managed to install version 2008 but cannot get it to run.
When I try to execute it I get error:

Code: Select all

err:module:attach_process_dlls "adlmdll.dll" failed to initialize, aborting
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Program Files\\AutoCAD 2008\\acad.exe" failed, status c0000142
Of course adlmdll.dll is under Program Files/AutoCAD. For the test I tried to rename it and then I had different error about not found dll.
I see someone else had similar error, but I could not find the solution so far.

Hope some can lead me to correct path now.

Code: Select all

Try:
'regsvr32 adlmdll.dll'

Then something's screwy. It may be missing other DLLs or it wasn't
installed properly.
