YTD Video Downloader 4.8.7 rt-installer-gg.exe failure

I currently running Linux Mint 17 using Cinnamon Desktop. Have been running Linux Mint with Cinnamon for some time.

I have previously on previous machines with Linux Mint 17 been able to install and run YTD Video Downloader http://www.ytddownloader.com/. The current version available of YTD is 4.8.7. With this version on install wine gives the following error:

“The program rt-installer-gg.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close”

I have never run into an issue with wine like this, and I am actually a noob to issues with it.

Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon is fully up to date.

Upgrade Wine. It installs fine here in 1.7.33.

Ok. So I added "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-wine/ppa/ubuntu trusty main" to my software sources and was able to update to 1.7.32. I made sure debugging and dev files were loaded. Attempted a reinstall of YTD and same exact error. The development version 33 is not available here. Any other suggestions.

I tested in 1.7.33, and it is possible that a bug was just fixed. Either wait for the 1.7.33 package or build Wine yourself, then retest in a clean 32 bit wineprefix. If you still have the problem in 1.7.33, post the full terminal output, including the command used to run it.
