How to upgrade wine (cant uninstall it) on ubuntu 8.04...

Hello i neade help.I have a remote server with ubuntu 8.04 with wine 1.0.1 and i would like to upgrade it unfortunately i was not able to do it evan to uninstall it so i was woundering is was,and how to installing/upgradeing it directly downloading the full package taht why i would like to use a script taht runs under Windows and that upload files to a server ftp (the script works ok 100% under Windows so i supose that will work olso under wine.Under wine 1.0.1 dosent work,i know that because i have test it maybe with fullpackage and upgraded wine instead will work.

Your version of Ubuntu is very old. I doubt there are any current Wine packages for it, and you might not be able to build current Wine on it, either.
