No Wine program loader in .exe menu

Hi there,

I installed Wine 1.6 then 1.4 on Ubuntu 13.10 but have always the same trouble :

When I click on an .exe file, The menu suggests me to open the file with different programs but not Wine...
I d not understand...

I tried this but it does not work :

I fixed it by opening ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list and setting wine.desktop as default for application/x-ms-dos-executable

Your file manager should have some option (e.g., "Other") that allows you to specify a program not on the "Open with" list.
