I have been using wine to run steam and games for about a month. Today when logging into steam there was an update from valve which downloaded. But when steam goes to open I receive an error saying.
Steam has encountered a serious issue and must close.
Anyone else with this problem?
Is it a known bug?
Will post debugger info.

Well, someone using an obsolete version of Wine who obviously did not read the instructions for reporting bugs is shouting about the same problem in bugzilla. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34833Anyone else with this problem?
Is it a known bug?

Well that was me haha. Thought I had reported it coreectly.
I just upgraded wine to 1.7.5. Problem is resolved
I did not realize the official stable release from winehq was an obsolete version.

Glad it worked for you.
FYI, the current stable release from WineHQ is 1.6; the log you attached to your bug report showed you were using 1.5.23. Before filing bugs you should always test the current development release.
