Ubuntu Wine Menu Location

Hi, may I first say many thanks for such an awesome piece of software! :)

My question though related to Wine is not an actual problem with wine :)

When I installed wine in Ubuntu 12.04, Wine put a new folder next to Accessories, Games, Graphics, Internet, Office, Other, Sound & Video, System Tools, Universal Access and now Wine in the Ubuntu equivalent of Windows Start Button, may I ask where the location of this folder is and how it was done exactly?

Anybody? I am trying to learn how wine added itself to the applications without using software like alacarte (main menu)
