game can't play a .mpg video file

Forgive me to start a new topic.
I find another key point to solve the problem "DirectShow VideoDecoderError".
Just need some advice.

play a viedo file named *.mpg.

The error show that DirectShow VideoDecoderError.
Maybe just need some codec to decode the .mpg file to install in wine
Just enable the wine application can play the .mpg file.

I tried several codecs to install in wine, but it doesn't make any difference.

Please reccomend some codecs to decode the .mpg file? great thanks.
