Karafun installs in Lubuntu but will not play

I hope someone can help me. I am new to Linux and want to use it to run an ancient laptop to play karaoke songs at parties, etc. I installed Lubuntu just fine and everything is great, however, I cannot get the Karafun software program to work through Wine. I have installed the current version and the program loads but it will not play the files. As I said, I am very new to Linux, so if you have a suggestion for me, please spell it out completely as I know virtually nothing about it. Thanks for any help offered.

What is the exact Wine version? If it's not 1.6-rc5, upgrade. If it doesn't work in 1.6-rc5, post terminal output. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log
