printing graphics on word 2003

Hi, i am a new ubuntu user and i tried to print a document using word 2003. the text in the document prints perfectly but it seems that it cannot print an image. im using Canon ip2770 as my printer. how can it be possible to print an image using word 2003? i tried to print the same document on open office and it worked.
