After a Mint reinstall Wine is "dead in the water". Everything is there as before, even after reinstalling Wine, but nothing runs, even notepad. Clicking on program icons or programs previously installed with Wine get no response, with the exception of Picasa where the opening screen pops up for a couple seconds. Looking at my files the programs are still there so. . .
Obviously something got lost in the "backup/restore" process when I reinstalled Mint. But what? Even Notepad won't run after a fresh install? I'm guessing a simple fix but. . .
Thanx for your help
wine won't open or run programs
Re: wine won't open or run programs
Try a clean wineprefix.
Re: wine won't open or run programs
OK, how?
Re: wine won't open or run programs
Delete or rename ~/.wine, then run winecfg to create a new one. If Wine's builtin programs (winecfg, notepad, etc.) run in the new wineprefix, reinstall your apps to that. If they don't, post terminal output.
