Making MS worf, Excel, PowerPoint default

Post by Synoc »

I was trying to get MS word as the default word processor for my Ubuntu 12.04 PC. yesturday this was golden I went to a doc file, selected "other application" when I right clicked, picked word and off I went. Everything work fine. Today, it's back to LibreOffice. and Word isn't even an option anymore. Can anyone help me out? all I did since then was remove the unused MS word program links (under other in the menu settings, there were about... 6 of them, I never figured out why). now I can't make word, excel or powerpoint my default anymore.

really need some help. I found this

http://askubuntu.com/questions/115795/c ... bre-office

but that's about it.

well then I guess that makes since. I thought those were installed from my many unsuccessful attempts. I guess the best way to get them back it to wipe the prefix and reinstall then. That's what I get for trying to "clean my house" I told everyone I am cluttered for a reason.
