Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines crashing on new game

I installed this game without a hitch, It opens a bit weird, It shows my desktop, And shows the intro cut off in a corner with the sound a bit messed up. I just press escape skipping them all until I reach the menu screen, Which almost fills the screen. (I am using gnome shell) It shows the date and stuff at the top of the screen, But, Besides that, It is fine. Music is fine, I can open menus fine, Change ratios fine, It's all good. Except when I click new game, Then it starts doing it's normal loading process, And crashes pretty close to the start with this error. http://pastebin.com/qVhhB6hE I am using Ubuntu 12.04 if it helps.
