Please help install Silkypix - Installshield error 1628

I would really appreciate if someone could help me install Silkypix. I have just upgraded to Linux Mint Maya (64bit Cinnamon) and I can't install Silkypix (any version) - Installshield always ends with 1628: Failed to complete installation. I am using Wine 1.04. Photoshop installed without any problems.

No such version. Do you mean 1.4?

Upgrade to the latest development release and if it still doesn't work, post terminal output. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log

Tried installing SILKYPIXDSPro50171E.exe in Wine 1.5.7 today - ends in the same error message. Thanks for helping me.

You should add a comment to the bug report that this is still an issue in 1.5.7.

I don't think it's the same issue - the people reporting there have minor issues but can install and use Silkypix. I can't install it at all since the upgrade to Mint 13. I am not sure which version of Wine I was running before but now when I try 1.4 or 1.5 I can't install Silkypix at all.

It could be the broken Ubuntu packages. Make sure you are using the latest one for 1.5.7; it is supposedly fixed.

This was with Wine 1.5.7 - same as 1.4, always the same error. The terminal output I posted is also with 1.5.7.

I have reinstalled Wine since then and have 1.5.8 now, in Synaptic the packages show as up to date. The same thing still happens when I try to install Silkypix.

Install to a pure 32 bit wineprefix. Create one with

(substitute the actual path for /path/to/wineprefix), then install it to that wineprefix.

That directory should not exist. Remove it first, then reinstall your program.

Ok, I guess I thought it was a lot more complicated with the wineprefix than it actually is. I've got Silkypix now - the installation didn't look very hopeful because the terminal was just listing errors and the computer froze when the installation was complete - but it's working!
