So here is the problem, I had ubuntu 11.10 and I had skyrim installed over wine, no tweaks just whatever skyrim installed and everything was great but then I moved into fedora 16 and when I installed skyrim the launcher started to crash due to unexpected error and I just let it be and didn't play it all that much but now I'm on linux int and I have the same problem and I have no idea what to do.

Re: skyrim launcher failing
Use pastebin so people don't have to download it.nashod wrote: the backtrace file wine generated:

Unhandled exception: unimplemented function msvcp90.dll.??0?$basic_ifstream@_WU?$char_traits@_W@std@@@std@@QAE@PB_WHH@Z called in 32-bit code
I don't know if this game installs vc90 itself. If it does, deleting the vc90 "deadbeef" manifest from /windows/winsxs/manifests should be enough; if it doesn't, install winetricks vcrun2008.
