Help me make the ongame poker client work again !

Post by Nicolas Cedilnik »

Hi guys,

A while ago, I submitted this test
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=20468
stating the ongame poker client worked almost flawlessly with wine.
I stopped playing for a while, and redownloaded it today from
https://www.unibet.fr/sps/poker/telecharger

I can't get it to run anymore. I've winetricked vcrun2008 and wininet.
Installation still works fine. Then I get a lot of errors related to
msvcp90 and msvcp80. They seem somehow related to the problems this guy
had :
http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=67107 but I couldn't find a solution. I also tried on a clean wineprefix, it didn't work better.

The screenshot found here : http://imgur.com/UUjgQ shows the dialog box that appears indefinitely
if I click "OK" and the wine log. A new error line is printed everytime
I click "OK". I have to "xkill" it to get rid of it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

did you look into your .wine folder? Did you look into .wine/drive_c/windows/winsxs/manifests folder? Did you find some "deadbeaf" file names there?

Hi,

this is strange, which wine version do you run? Please upgrade to latest version (new release due today). Run from command line and post terminal output.

Hi,

I can't tell you what's going wrong. One simple workaround maybe to go back to an older wine version, before this manifest business started making trouble. Maybe you can get an old wine version from installation media or from a repository.

I downloaded and tested that installer. It installs fine, including updating. I had to delete the vc80 "deadbeef" manifest, but did not have to install any winetricks to get to the login screen. Since I don't have an account, that's as far as I can test.

My test was in 1.4-rc4, and I don't see anywhere where you say what Wine version you're using. My suggestion is to upgrade if it's not 1.4-rc4 and reinstall to a clean wineprefix (delete the vc80 deadbeef manifest).

me !
