Steam survey lists wine...

...version as information that'll be transmitted to Valve. Saw it the first time today, has anyone seen that before? Is there an information from Valve about that?

Yup. Valve is aware of Wine, and isn't going to ban you for using it or anything like that. Many game companies are at the very least taking Wine into account when designing anti-cheat or anti-debugging measures (Blizzard's Warden, for example.)

Very basically - Wow has a watch dog bot detector that runs when you
play. When they first started using it Wine players got caught by it.
Blizzard adjusted the code for the watch dog so it could tell the
difference between Wine and a bot, letting Linux players in again.

oh, I thought they would use it for market share analyzing...like: "Oh look, we got x% of linux users, let's port our Source engine to linux." ...or something like that.
