Unable to find cd-rom/DVD drive on this computer

I'm trying to install Morrowind on my computer. It installed fine from the DVD but when I try to play it it says Unable to find cd-rom/DVD drive on this computer. I have created a drive and mapped it to the DVD and set the type to CD-ROM without avail. Help?

If you are talking about the Game Morrowind, there is an applications database page for it. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=1015
Please look at the page and see if there is an answer there.

Also, when you created the mount point, did you give all users at least read permissions?

I read through that page and others looking for a solution and found others having the same problem. What they did to fix it was create a drive and map it to the DVD. I did that but it still said Unable to find cd-rom/DVD drive on this computer. I'm running Linux and don't know how to do much.

This is most likely a copy protection issue. I believe Morrowind uses SafeDisc 2.x, which should work in Wine compiled with GCC 4.5 but is broken in GCC 4.6.
