Post by Xi0N »

Im using arch linux 64bit, and i am unable to run ImgBurn properly..... it just displays an error message saying that the program cannot start and that's it.
Does anyone around here use ImgBurn as i do? How did you manage to make it work?
Thank you!!!

Wine version: 1.3.30
ImgBurn Version: 2.5.6.0

No. Why use that rather than a native Linux optical disk writer?

I use Brasero, which is designed for the Gnome window manager, under
Fedora. It can burn everything I need (data CD and DVD, iso CD and DVD,
music CD and video DVD and is pretty straight forward to use.

Well, this is Wine's forums, if you are going to have the same answer for everything, which is the meaning of wine?

I have my reasons for using ImgBurn... mainly because i want to use it for recording XBOX360 games, since now the process has become harder for those like me, who used to use growisofs for recording, and for the time being, we need to use imgburn, which, as i said, used to work before....

So, any suggestions?

What is your Windows version set to in winecfg? It needs to be XP for ImgBurn. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27559

If that's not it, post terminal output.

I see that the ImgBurn website says that it runs under Wine, which
implies that they may well support its operation as a Wine application.
Have you talked to them yet?

I downloaded ImgBurn 2.5.6 and installed it. It starts up just fine here in 1.3.30 on default settings in a clean wineprefix.

So my first question is: is your wineprefix clean (no winetricks or other tweaks, nothing else installed)? If not, try installing ImgBurn to a clean wineprefix.

I completely erased .wine from my home folder and started again..... no luck...

I will try asking over the ImgBurn site, and see if they can help me as well....
