Audio detection issue

Hello,

I have a problem with my wine 1.3 installation:

I've just installed wine 1.3 but when I open the wine configuration window and go to the Audio section I receive the following errors:

"It's been found within the register an unavailable controler! would you like to eliminate "jack" from the register?"

"It's been found within the register an unavailable controler! would you like to eliminate "nas" from the register?"

"It's been found within the register an unavailable controler! would you like to eliminate "esd" from the register?"

This affects directly to the audio configuration of Rosetta Stone - it doesn't allow me to use the analog microphone.

I've been doing some research on this but I just can't get a solution... is there any holly soul who might want to help this little noobster of me, please?

It's a sound server for linux mainly used with ubuntu and gnome. Pulse
tends to have issues with wine. Also you can ignore the errors you got wine
in 1.3.25 started an audio rewrite so those options were removed if you dont
have sound what version of wine you using and make sure you select emulation
not full. If you still dont have sound write back

I got wine 1.3.27. Basically it doesn't detect my microphone. With the previous wine 1.3.¿25? nothing really worked at all because rosetta stone used to tell me I didn't have speakers nor a microphone attached to the computer. With both situations I tried to correct that issue by going to wine > wine configuration > audio > Direct sound > hardware acceleration > emulation; however this didn't work.

With the previous version -the one before 1.3.¿25?- Rosetta stone worked like a charm so...

I was thinking to go back to the release before the 1.3.25 one but I can't find it U_U

Any ideas?

Go to winehq.org and find an old source (or install package for your OS).

If you want to try newer wines, first do: pulseaudio --version

If that gives back something you can try this, someone else got sound
working with this: (IF THAT DOESN"T RETURN Pulse's version means you don't
do pulse, so dont' follow this).

DON"T DO ALL OF THIS. Just up to the line:

WINEPREFIX="your prefix path here" regedit alsareg.reg

once you execute that, your sound should be going directly through alsa and
working.

Ok, this is what I have up to the moment:

Since I don't really need the very last version of wine, I'd like to just install the version 1.3.24, cuz it was the last one that allowed me to start without problems my rosetta stone application. I've already downloaded the .tar.gz package and untared it and executed the /tools/wineinstall script as root.

It appears the wine option at the applications menu but there's missing the wine configuration menu. By the way, it isn't recognizing my audio configuration either... am I missing a step?

um, well if your on ubuntu/debian you can do sudo apt-get build-dep wine
that will get all the necessarily libraries/headers you need to compile.

the inside the directory do, ./configure, then see if your missing anything
(you don't need gstreamer/opencl/oss4 prolly, unless you want those things
in wine, but I haven't compiled wine with those in long time right now).
and when you type, winecfg nothing happens or there's no audio tab?
