MS Lync 2010 or OCR2 experience using Wine?

Post by tha »

Has anyone have any experience of running MS Lync 2010 or Office Communicator 2007 using Wine (Ubuntu)?

Office Communicator apparently won't even install: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27273. Nobody's filed any bugs or test reports for Lync 2010, but I wouldn't expect it to work.

Don't bother. Use pidgin with communicator SIPE plugin. Works much better then native.

Pidgin is not an option. Features that Pidgin supports are very limited...Lync is much more that just a chat client.
