It is likely that your game settings in WoW will not go any higher
playing through Wine. WoW should be stable and have high enough frame
rates for you to play all parts of the game, but you will not get the
DirectX 10/11 higher end effects and top graphical settings that you
might have in Windows.

On the appdb page for Aion (latest version of game) the comments say
that the instructions for the previous version (2.0.x) still work, that
may be a good place to start:
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=21370

If you have questions or run into errors be sure to include as much
specific information about what is not working, what you have tried to
do, error messages, etc. as you can in the post to give people a place
to start looking. Good Luck!

Hmm, I remember something a while ago about Ubuntu packages following
their own numbering scheme so it was hard for users to be sure what Wine
version they had. If your wine 1.2.3 is Ubuntu numbering for Wine 1.3.23
or higher you are okay, if that really is Wine version 1.2.3 then you
are missing out on many patches and fixes that have been added since
then. I think in Ubuntu you can check your Wine version through clicking
Applications -> Wine -> Configure Wine and then clicking on the 'About'
tab in the window that opens (long time since I used Ubuntu so no
promises that's correct). You can also open that same window by using a
terminal and typing winecfg then hitting enter.

If you are using Ubuntu, you have to add the wine-development ppa and
then you can get the latest version, which was moved up to 1.3.24 on Friday.

Since these are development builds, programs that worked with 1.3.23
might not work with 1.3.24 due to changes that are partially implemented.
