When I try to install allfonts it goes to tell me that the checksum did not match and after retrying it then says "sha1sum mismatch! Rename /home/anonymous/.cache/winetricks/droid/DroidSans-Bold.ttf and try again."
I am doing this because when trying to turn on the game eve online I have been able to install and accept user agreement and to patch and now I am at the login screen but there is no window to input text.
I am using the latest version of Ubuntu
I am using wine 1.3.15
I am using experimental videocard driver for nvidia because the proprietary one would not work at all.
I would upgrade your wine to one that is more recent. 1.3.23 is the
current release. And you must get the nvidia proprietary driver to
work because you are not going to get good results with the opensource
nvidia driver.
I had the proprietary driver before and it was constantly activated but not in use. I couldn't do anything at all. This one actually works from what I've seen so far of it.
Yes, update your WINE. But also make sure that you get the most recent winetricks script. Every now and then, things get updated and thus get a different sha1 hash. The winetricks script needs to be updated with the new hash, otherwise it sees that the download doesn't match the old sha1 hash, because it doesn't.
The purpose of seeing if it matches a hash is to tell if the download went correctly and that there was no corruption or lose of data. The downside is that the hashes need to updated, or else you run into what you did.
Also, would "corefonts" suffice?
Cheers,
Jake

Corefonts has the same problem, i just made an update on wine but i dont see a better version than 15.1 anywhere. How do I update the hash?
I'm posting here because most of the advice that pops up on google is from 2007 and most of it doesn't work because of the differences in ubuntu.
Most likely that will make more things fail to work.

I'm wondering if there is a way to make the proprietary driver be in use.
That was the main problem. It was not in use when I activated it so I had no graphics driver when attempting to use that one. Also for some reason the freeware option disappears even if i then try to uninstall the proprietary one so I would have to repair/reinstall ubuntu again to bring it back if it didn't work. I will update to newest 1.3 wine now.

Okay thanks, have 1.3.23 now and it indicates that the freeware driver is insufficient. (no shader model 3 suppoort)
Also received the fonts addon so all issues are solved here.
