Sims 3: No shadows and strange water

Hi ,
finally i got sims 3 to running but not without some serious flaws. There are no shadows and the water is strange looking.
Is this normal or can i do something about it?

My rig:
Nvidia gt450
core2duo 2800mhz

wine 1.3.23

What version are your graphics card drivers?

It will probably only work with proprietary nvidia drivers.

I´m using ubuntu 11.04 with the default 270.41.06 nvidia proprietary driver.

Looks like the tide is out. Seriously, could you show us a few correctly rendered pictures?

how did you make it run? what did you do? I have installed the game, but dont know how to run it
