Black skin in The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion

Post by Fredd »

I just installed The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion and my main character's skin is black and there is nothing I can do to change it. I own a nvidia geforce gtx 260m and use a fedora 14.

Please help.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20074

you can override that .dll with a native Windows one and it will work.

The dll you need is right in the bug summary.

asin the main title of the bug...

Oblivion: black skin of main hero without native d3dx9_27.dll

you need d3dx9_27.dll. Sadly this isn't one of the ones Winetricks has by itself, so you need to add it in and set the override manually in winecfg. Winetricks of d3dx9 will also get this along with many other dlls, and I tested it before and Oblivion worked that way, but I think the frame rate was slightly slower, because a few of those other dlls aren't really needed.

Hi doh,

Since many players are facing the problem of  "d3dx9_27.dll Not Found" after logging into XMO.  Here are one of the
solution i found on other website may help you.
because C:\Windows\System32 doesnt have the "d3dx9_27.dll"
so you may browse to this webpage- ,
then  "Click here to go to the download of d3dx9_27.dll" to download it.
it will automatically direct to download page, and click "Download d3dx9_27.dll", it will download  the "d3dx9_27.zip" ,unzip
it and paste into C:\Windows\System32
you're done!
Not exactly. First it is unlawful to redistribute Microsoft's dll
files. It IS lawful to copy it from a copy of Windows YOU OWN or to
get the file directly from Microsoft (read the EULA, it does apply to
the EU as it was rewritten to meet their legal requirements).
So, we have a product that was created called winetricks. This script
not only downloads and installs the file, but it also makes the
appropriate changes in Wine's configuration files so the file will
work.
Lastly, we need/desire bug reports whenever problems like these are
encountered. Please either file a report or update existing
report(s).

Thank you.

if you look closer at what this person has been posting, it isn't even related to the thread other than they found the dll name, but aren't even talking about he same error or problem... I think its just a spammer trying ot get links to a website.

Site has been blocked and spammer banned. I removed his posts from
the forum last night.

Thanks, James.

(We're planning to upgrade the forum code to a version with better anti-spam measures
sometime, but I don't know when.)
