First time trying to get the game running, or was it working under an
older wine? Check if your original CD has these files on it:

* *00000001.TMP*
* *CLCD16.DLL*
* *CLCD32.DLL*
* *CLOKSPL.EXE*
* *DPLAYERX.DLL*

That's indicative of rather old SafeDisc copy protection and I think
your game might have that. If it doesn't, try to find out what
protection it does employ. Wine should support SafeDisc version 1 and 2
I believe, according to http://wiki.winehq.org/CopyProtection. Also
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=5144
shows the game has platinum rating, which may mean you found a
regression? I am no expert on the subject sorry, just some ideas.

I didn't find any of those files.
I know that the game is protected, but the first time I make it start, it told me the there were problems with 3d directDraw; now i can't obtain the same window.
If you tell me how can i see what kind of protection this game has, i'll do it... i can't...i'm sorry...
Especially sorry for my English.... i don't understand very well what you say or what is written in this forum... what do you want to say whith regression?

I've just try to play with a game that I installed and played 3 days ago.
Now it doesn't want to start!
I obtain this error in the window:
Unable to see the management system graphics.
Make sure the video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw.

some ideas?

Did you upgrade or change anything with your video drivers or your X
windows setup?

Don't be *too* sorry -- most of us are terrible in most of the 11,000 or
so languages in the world.

"Regression" means that while working on a program to make it
better, some parts became broken and need to be fixed again.

Hmm if it was working on an older version of wine but not 1.0rc1, I
think that means you found a regression? It's a bit more complex but if
you read through http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting it will tell
you how to find it, and report it. I haven't done any regression tests
myself, it looks like it would take me a whole afternoon to get right :)

As for the the files I said to check for on your CD, they might be
hidden files so make sure you have enabled viewing of hidden files.
