Forsaken World Crashing

Post by ArtemisDragon »

A new mmo called Forsaken World just entered closed beta. The client is crashing in Wine. It's crashing instantly, before any window appears. The patcher is fine. I know it's working in Windows for other people. Is this crash a bug in Wine or something else?

Wine 1.3.5
PCLinuxOS Full Monty (up-to-date)
GeForce 7600 - 256.53
Forsaken World Download Link (Warning: 3GB download)

Try upgrading. Latest version is wine-1.3.12.

If still won't work, try adding WINEDEBUG=warn+all to the command line and post output to pastebin (it will be too big for forum).

Does not work in 1.3.12.

With the game client itself isolated, winedebug didn't do much. When I try to run it through the patcher, see here.

A couple of months after the original post, someone stated it was working in 1.2, but not 1.3.X. I haven't been able to verify that. I tried to run it on 1.2.2 and it crashed like 1.3.X.

Noticed the links don't show up well. Here they are for convenience.

Don't see nothing out of ordinary. File a bug in bugzilla.
