Howdy,

I'm working on reviving the Debian packages. I haven't done Debian
packaging in a while, so I've put an alpha build of 1.3.8 on
http://www.austinenglish.com/blah. Currently only squeeze/i386, but if
these work well, and there is interest, I can do the other
releases/64-bit versions.

Please let me know if they do/don't work for you, or any other feedback.

Cheers,
Austin

Hi Austin,

I did a Debian package for wine too. But, it's for Debian Unstable amd64 and i386 versions.
I used Paul Brooks's code source (Mepis Distribution, her Debian folder).

I create these package on virtual system and on my Debian Sid, i haven't problem. But, I don't have a server to share the packages.

Hello austin987.

Debian user here, really interested in a AMD64 version of wine 1.3.8.

I tried to make deb packages of wine 1.2.1 and 1.3.8, through "dh_make" and "dpkg-buildpackage", with no success. But using "./configure", "make" and "make install" worked without problems, so if you have time to build them, i'll try them for sure.

Anyway, these are awesome news, hope you can revive the wine in debian.

best regards.

Being admittedly ignorant of Debian, I'm confused: Do the Ubuntu .debs
not also work on Debian?
