a small mouse bug in project IGI

Post by cendre »

Hi,

I installed project IGI with the CD , everything seems to work but there are a small mouse bug : i can't turn more than 180° :(
I think this bug can be resolve if I "fix" the mouse somewhere on the screen
but don't work in winecfg.

OS:Ubuntu 7.10
Wine Version:0.9.55
card driver:nvidia-glx-new with the repository

Could you try the native dinput.dll?

There is not "simple fix". It's a known problem - bug 6971 in Bugzilla

the native dll didn't resolve the problem :

Windows version:

Windows Vista:the mouse doesn't work in the main menu and in the game the keyboard and the mouse don't work.

Windows XP:like Windows Vista

Windows 2003:like Windows Vista and windows XP

Windows 2000:same problem : I can't turn more 180°

Windows ME:like Windows 2000

Windows 98:like Windows ME and Windows 2000

Windows 95:like Windows 98 , ME and 2000

Windows NT 4.0:message box : "This application requires DirectX version 7.0 or greater to run"

Windows NT 3.5:like Windows NT 4.0

Windows 3.1:the mouse problem is in the game AND the main menu

Windows 3.0:like Windows 3.1

Windows 2.0 : like windows 3.0 and Windows 3.1

No need to try setting the windows version below 95 :-)

Next step might be to try rebuilding wine with the hack from the bug report,
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6971#c43

BTW does the bug happen with the free demo,
http://www.fileplanet.com/52418/50000/f ... t-IGI-Demo
?

If you are talking about "escaping mouse" bug... try searching for... or
don't search ;] just try this:

http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=7774

It works for me - now Project IGI would get a Platinium... if performance
were good

If you are using Debian Etch - you will find newest wine with this patch
apllied on:

http://wine.x.pl/

(patched package)

Enjoy.

How do you add the script to Project IGI or wine?
