Latest Wine version, Debian Lenny, fast computer. The previous pre-patch
download finally finished (300+ MB in about 4 hours. The current one (about
same size) stops at 72% (273 MB). I have "Don't throttle download" checked.
Also "peer-to-peer transfer". That sounds like some kind of bit torrent. I
don't use that. Because this process appears to be done in Wine, does anyone
know if I need to do something to make these downloads work? I have to say
I'm trusting Blizzard less and less with every problem they have. Makes me
think they use Windoze servers. (sick joke)
Thanks,
Jim

WOW patch downloads hang
Download this and put it inside the same folder as the blizzard downloader. http://capnbry.net/wow/downloads/WoWTorrentEx-4.zip
Then run it to get a .torrent file that you then can use in ur own torrent program.

recommending anyone even follow that link. I might be useful for you to
include information about what the file is, how it works, and why it
would make a difference so that people can have a better idea if it
might help them. Especially since that link does directly to the file
and not to a webpage with any information about the file.
I don't use torrent other then the default WoW usage, but isn't it
possible that using some torrent file other than Blizzard's own might
not be legal or might violate TOS?.

The program will just extract blizzard's own torrent file from the blizzard downloader.
