Usb drivers and linux apps

Post by simong »

Hello

Situation: I'm moving from a windows XP box to fedora 11. I used winXP to run skype with a dlink dph-50u USB adaptor so that I could talk on skype with my regular phone. Been working fine for months

I'm now on fedora 11, able to run skype linux without problem, even the webcam work! Problem, cannot make the dlink dph-50u to work. After a lot of googling, cannot find anything.

I was wondering if it would possible to install the winXP usb drivers of the dph-50u using wine and make it available to my skype linux... probably like a new sound device for skype to use.

It is possible? Any chances for an average user to make this happen?

thanks

Wine doesn't support Windows USB drivers, there is a older thread discussing this issue.

No, Wine does not support hardware drivers.
