Hi All, I am trying to run some of our web applications, which are specifically developed having MS IE in mind, through wine on Suse Linux.

I am just concerned that is there any license obligations to MS if we use IE or some IE related dll files in wine...???

The idea is to reduce the MS licenses and we're that even after running the IE in Wine does it require any MS license...??

Thanks in Advance.

Internet Explorer on Wine is a tricky case and requires a Windows license.

Not only might you owe money to Microsoft for running IE, you might be in legal troubles as the EULA for IE states that it will only be used with Microsoft Windows(TM) operating systems.

Your best bet is to have the web applications redesigned to be W3C compliant and usable by other browsers.

Depends on your localities. In the EU and other places, that clause is
considered nonbinding and unenforceable.

You should be asking your lawyer this...

We can give you totally wrong legal advice without being accountable.
