Iḿ trying to install windows weather watcher. The install halts asking for windows common controls 6.0.0 etc. Winetricks offers 5.8. Is there a way around this?

You can try and copy it from WinXP (all related directories from under c:\windows\winsxs). Don't forget the manifest as well.

However I'm not sure if it would really work all that well / at all on Wine.
