Sims 3 stopped working

I bought The Sims 3 today and it installed and ran perfectly.
However I had to uninstall it for unrelated reasons and when I reinstalled it it wouldn't launch, wit hor without the nocd patch.
I don't recall changing aything in the way of drivers or wine versions in that time so I'm at a complete loss as to what is going on.
Any ideas?

Did you try to run it in the terminal?

I can't it won't let me cd into th einstall directory, /usr/local/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Bin

Either quote that or us a

\
before each space

Use quotes around the path or use bash and tab through the path as it
adds appropriate escaping for the spaces.

I also had a problem with sims 3 working, after hearing of others having it working.

I tried to install with the latest 1.1.23 WINE and the install bar got stuck 90% of the way, so it could not be installed.

I re-installed WINE 1.1.22, and the install worked, although I did have an error message at the end of installation, and it not only installed but is perfectly playable !!. Although I did have some crashes mid game.
