Attempting to Install WINE Onto Linux Lite - Running On Acer

I'm trying to download WINE to run the windows version of iTunes on a brand new Acer Aspire-One.

I'm having trouble finding the correct installation file, and then finding the program to run the installation of iTunes from...

Any clues?? HELP!!

Which distribution of Linux do you have installed?

Which version of iTunes are you trying to install?

(old versions of iTunes can be downloaded from

I'm using Linux Lite, and trying to download the latest version of iTunes

hit alt and f2 then type terminal. when the windows opens type sudo yum install wine and hit enter.if that doesn't work type "sudo yum upgrade" and hit enter. then try again. after that you might need to upgrade wine so type "sudo yum upgrade wine" and hit enter.

but you'll ned to do sudo yum install fedora-release before sudo yum upgrade wine

I stripped off the Linpus OS that came with the Acer and installed Kuki Linux (a lightweight variant of Ubuntu) Kuki installs easily and everything works 'out of the box'. Then I installed Wine 1.0.1 via the package manager that comes with Kuki and I'm now running two Windows progs (educational - for schools) no bother.

The Linpus OS that comes with the Acer is based on an old version of Fedora and isn't very accommodating when it comes to upgrading.
