CS:S Problem...

hey, when i run Counter-Strike : Source from steam using wine, it runs like it normally would on windows, then when it starts up, it shows me the css background, like when its loading the menu, then the screen goes black and the pointer (mouse) flickers..
any ideas?

Video card? Have you tried to run with -dxlevel 81?

is ther Dx8-9 stuff i need to download? my video card is fine, i used to play css when i had windows

In case you didn't understand that:

Go to the game's properties in steam, there you can add startup arguments somewhere, there insert/add
-dxlevel 81
this will make CS:S using fall back to directx 8.1 functions (which are implemented in wine, you don't have to install directx) instead of using directx 9.

Video card and drivers version? If you don't have Nvidia card - the chances are not good for anything more complicated then glxgears to work.
