RadioSure Internet Radio Player support in Wine?

Post by mocham »

Is it possible to get this working under Wine? I'm running the latest version and get the following when I try to run the "portable" version they have on their website:

Code: Select all

wine RadioSure.exe
wine: Call from 0x7b844453 to unimplemented function ntoskrnl.exe.IoAttachDevice, aborting
wine: Unimplemented function ntoskrnl.exe.IoAttachDevice called at address 0x7b844453 (thread 001a), starting debugger...
Unhandled exception: unimplemented function ntoskrnl.exe.IoAttachDevice called in 32-bit code (0x7b844453).

The last "fixme" line repeats indefinitely. The program doesn't seem to be able to make an Internet connection.

If that portable version using xenodcode it won't work on Wine.

Remove ~/.wine directory (or use a different wineprefix) and install normal version of their player. Of course if it's using any kind of DRM it won't work on Wine.

And why do you need windows programs for something there are 100s of native Linux programs for?

i tried the portable version, and for some stations it says "can't connect" indeed, but other stations play just fine right here. So maybe various stations don't exist anymore?

You guys are right. There's just a LOT of stations in their list that don't work. The program appears to rely on a pre-downloaded list of stations which I assume come from the developers. This sucks. Tunapie and Streamtuner are still king. Thanks for the feedback.

Is it possible to get this working under Wine?  I'm running the latest version and get the following when I try to run the "portable" version they have on their website:

Code:

It's attempting to run a device driver, which is unlikely to work in wine.

You could try running in windows 98 mode, and see if that helps.
