wine with Satlker SC

Hi!

I've been trying to run the game Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl, in Kubuntu(x64) 8.10 KDE4, without succes. I managed to install the game and when i try to run it, the monitor turns black forever
This game works with wine, it has been tested without problems, so.........

Please, can anyone tell me how to do it?

Wine version 1.1.18
intel pentium core 2 duo (1.86ghz x2)
ATI radeon 1300/1550X series (512mb)
RAM 4.00 gb (the computer detect 3..don't know why)

There seems to exist a bug specific to ATI:

Have you read the comments there?

Have you also followed the howto in http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=7377

To get sound working use OpenAL-Soft from http://kcat.strangesoft.net/openal.html instead of broken crap from creative. Will update howto when get home.

Maybe it is a WINE 1.18 issue. I have tried this game both on NVidia & ATI's card. However, the black screen is always seen.

Doubt. Works fine here with wine-1.1.18 and nVidia 8800GT driver 180.37.

Have no extra settings except memory size.

with cedega and engine 6.0 (transgaming say that is the best engine that makes it work) suddenly it opens a window (in 1024x786) and in 1.5 seconds it disapier

ROFL, they made a really good progress then...

PS: Keep all mentioning of cedega away from this forum. It has nothing to do with Wine.
