I would like to know if anyone would be generous to find out if the following program would work in wine for I have a laptop and I am thinking of switching to wine, but I need to know if it'll work on wine

I assume you mean "switching to linux" rather then "switching to
wine". I encourage you to test yourself using a live CD or a virtual
machine however I trying loading up 1.0.1.

Client loads with some sound errors which might require you to edit
the configuration of wine to get working right, however the GUI
displays. That's how far I got with that.

The server doesn't load as it requires some kind of dll which I didn't
want to spend time looking for.

Your best bet is to look in appdb and see in there is an entry for
this program. If not, try it yourself and submit an entry on appdb as
to how well this program ran.

Yes I do mean switching to linux.

also what dll does it say it's looking for?

I have used this program for years and I might be able to help you.

Anyways, You can't really play the game without a connection to a running server (note that if you have a server running locally on your computer it'll still work)

As for sound there isn't any on the main menu of the game.

What is the program's name?

Did you take time to check the Applications Database for an entry for this program? If there is no entry that means either no one has tried or no one decided it was worth creating an entry for this program.

Since this is a Free Open Source project, we rely on user's to do this for themselves and tell us what happened. If I were to try, on my Mac, results may not be the same as for your laptop running Linux, so my results would not apply in your situation.
