Debian 12 update screw up the windows appearance

Post by floppy »

Hello,
after moving from Debian 11 to Debian 12, the windows signs are not correct anymore (not a major issue; however how to know where is now the X sign for closing a window). I have removed / reinstalled several fonts.
apt install wine wine32 wine64 libwine libwine:i386 fonts-wine
apt install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
winetricks corefonts
Nothing made it.
wine --version
wine-8.0 (Debian 8.0~repack-4)
Any idea what to do?
(change from a windows 8 to windows 10 in winecfg did not help).Image

not directly a solution but may help: both wine-8 and debian-12 are a pretty outdated software. Debian-13 is in RC stage currently, has been pretty stable for over a year now and comes with wine-10: unless there's some blocker, I'd recommend trying that instead.
