Wine 10.0 seems to have introduced a regression in Dark Engine games (Thief Gold, Thief II, System Shock 2), leading the games to crash, either during startup or while loading a level. The regression seems at first to be related to video playback - removing the folder containing the videos (or just renaming it) makes it possible to get into the game and load a level. However, the problem seems to be deeper than that; even after removing the videos, Thief Gold crashes when loading the second level of the campaign; cutscenes in Thief II actually work, but the game crashes when loading the second level of the campaign; System Shock 2 crashes on startup. As such, I'm not sure what exactly got broken with the update.
I'd appreciate if someone could look into this.
